Register for an Extended SMC (lapsed 5+ years)

You'll need: the year your award ran out, current club membership, and the Bronze eLearning done. About 10 minutes to register.

  1. Check this is you

    learn.ncslsc.com › SMC

On the SMC page, tap Lapsed 5+ years. After 5 years or more you need a full assessment to get your award back.

Lapsed less than 5 years? Book a standard SMC instead.

The “Which sounds like you?” choices on the SMC page, with “Lapsed 5+ years” selected and circled in red. Below are two steps: Renew your membership, and Register for the Extended session.
  2. Renew your membership

    SLS Hub

Join or renew with North Cottesloe in the SLS Hub. Renewals are due 1 November.

Forgotten your login? See Log in to the SLS Hub.

  3. Do the Bronze online theory

    SLS Hub › eLearning

The Extended SMC needs the Bronze Medallion online theory done first. You'll find it in eLearning.

See Do your SMC eLearning for how to find and enrol in a course.

  4. Open the Extended SMC form

    Club form › page 1

Open the Extended SMC form (opens in a new tab) and read the top. Exemptions for experience, other qualifications or your job are possible.

Fill in your name, date of birth and email.

The top of the “NCSLSC Extended SMC Registration” form. The paragraph about the full assessment after five or more years, and possible exemptions, is circled in red. Below are the empty Participant's Name and Date of Birth fields.
  5. Tell us about your award

    Club form › page 1

Pick your award and type the year it ran out (usually 31 December of that year).

Answer the membership and SLS account questions, then tap Next.

The Award Type choices (Bronze Medallion or Other) and the empty “What year did your award expire” box, circled in red. Below are two Please Select questions about membership and an SLSA account.
  6. Choose the session

    Club form › page 2

Pick the Extended SMC session. It's about six hours at the club.

Can't make it? Pick “I cannot make the above date” and we'll contact you. Don't book a standard SMC: SLSWA won't recognise it for a lapsed award.

Page 2 of the form. The two session choices, the Extended SMC date and “I cannot make the above date and wish to be contacted”, are circled in red. Below are a notes box and the Key Information panel.
  7. Ask us about experience, then submit

    Club form › page 2

Want recent experience recognised? Email requal@ncslsc.com before the day.

Add anything the Head Trainer should know (injuries, other awards, your job), then tap Submit.
