The IRB skills maintenance check is its own one-hour requal, separate from the Bronze session. Each date runs two waves. You still need the online module first.

Doing your Bronze as well? On 31 October and 5 December, come to the 7:00 am Bronze SMC first and take the later IRB wave: 9:30 am on 31 October, 9:00 am on 5 December. The earlier wave is for members doing IRB only.

IRB award holders are also emailed and the dates go in the newsletter. Questions: irbadmin@ncslsc.com

On the day

Can’t make it? Unenrol in the SLS Hub as early as you can. If you don’t turn up, or pull out less than 48 hours before, a $50 fee may apply.

Questions

  1. Active and long-service members with an award must complete an SMC each season, before 31 December, or apply for an exemption. Not doing it can lead to suspension of membership.

  2. Bronze is every year. Other awards differ. Your SLS Hub transcript shows when each one is due.

  3. Book an IRB session from the list. Each IRB SMC is 1 hour, with two sessions in each time slot. IRB award holders are also emailed and the dates go in the newsletter. Questions: irbadmin@ncslsc.com.

  4. An SMC session run with the Sea Lions program volunteers.

  5. Register for a late SMC. A $50 fee is paid on registration; approved cases can get a discount code from enquiries@ncslsc.com.
